We get asked a lot to sponsor events or to donate raffle prizes. Rather than giving out raffle prizes, we prefer to allocate more substantial sums to just three or four organisations each year. We choose these in January or February.
For 2019, we are pleased to announce sponsorship of the following organisations or events:
Ely Hero Awards
There are so many reasons why we should all be proud to live and work in Ely and the surrounding villages; we have some of the most amazing people who live here, who work here and who make it one of the greatest cities – no wonder Ely gets voted so many times in the top 10 places to live!
Ely Heroes wants to honour those people and celebrate how amazing they truly are, to shine a light on those heroes in our community who are the most compassionate, determined, honourable, kind, supportive, brave – the real unsung heroes of Ely, an inspiration to us all. The awards will highlight and celebrate these individuals within our community.
Ely Gin is proud to sponsor the “Community Champion” category, with the winner to be announced at a very special “Ely Local Hero Award Ceremony” at The Maltings in June.

Ely Gin contributes annually towards the costs of putting on the event at Babylon Gallery.

Stars supports young people facing grief.
Everyone will experience bereavement during their life, but for young people, the death of a parent or another important person in their lives can be terrible to deal with. Stars in Cambridgeshire, can help by listening and encouraging young people to express their painful emotions through creative play and work.
Ely Gin is supporting Stars Cambridgeshire with their ‘story book project’. Through reading-age-appropriate story books about bereavement, the children can start to process their own grief and help them to understand their feelings. These books are invaluable for parents and teachers to reach out to children in a very difficult time. If you would like to support them too, please take a look here: talktostars.org.uk
Ely Outdoor Sports Association (EOSA)
EOSA is a non-profit making, organisation run by volunteers and its objectives are to encourage and facilitate sport in the East Cambridgeshire area by providing and maintaining the facilities at Downham Road, for the use of its member Clubs and the community as a whole.
Ely Gin will be contributing to the maintenance and refit of the club house.
If you are involved in an organisation that you would like considered for sponsorship in 2020, please get in contact around the end of 2019. We do not normally contribute to general funding; we prefer to have a specific project that we can put our name to or get involved with. Try us! It might be you listed here next year.
